Myself and the Wine Bottle
For this wine tasting report, I drank Paterson Sauvignon Blanc. This wine contains Sauvignon Blanc grapes and is from Marlborough New Zealand. This wine is a 2021 vintage and costs $20 on nakedwines.com. nakedwines.com reviewed this wine as"Mike’s juicy Sauvignon Blanc is loaded with fresh, citrusy flavors and ends with a light, crisp finish — it’ll bring you a glass of sunshine any time of year." From page 1771 in the Wine Folly textbook, Sauvignon Blancs generally have notes of white peach, green melon, lemon balm, tarragon, and grass. My personal review of this wine is definitely positive. I would say it is my favorite white wine thus far in my wine drinking journey. I was able to pick up a lot of citrus notes, but my favorite part was its smoothness and low acidity. I know that this should taste like cat piss since its from New Zealand, but I didn't really pick up on that so much. Overall, I really enjoyed this wine just drinking it by itself. I would be interested to pair this with some food to see how that changes the wine. I was a little skeptical about this wine because I thought it might be similar to Cabernet Sauvignon which I don't like, but I was pleasantly suprised.
